Bandwidth Required to Test 1000BaseT Signal?

Question: What bandwidth of the oscilloscope is adequate for testing a 1000BaseT signal?

Answer:  Most of the energy in 1000BaseT test mode signals lies in the range of 1 MHz to 100 MHz. An oscilloscope with bandwidth of 1GHz or more is recommended as it would result in less errors in measurement and hence in more reliable testing. For 1000BaseT, it is highly recommended to use an oscilloscope with bandwidth > 1GHz as lower bandwidths can result in reduced margins.
